Soundarya is a popular actress from India. She has been acting in movies since 2007 and has been heralded for playing strong female roles. In 2010, she started the Soundarya Rajinikanth Foundation for Women to support women’s emancipation. She married her long-time boyfriend in February 2017 and became a mother in 2018 through a surrogate mother. Soundarya is a trained classical dancer and has been a part of many dance shows since she was little. She performed on stage with 8 male dancers and 2 female dancers, covering all four songs of her EP, Boom Bang. At the Lakme Fashion Week 2018, Soundarya showcased her collection called "Green Prophets", inspired by Amish Tripathi's novel of the same name. She has also created a music video for the song "Boogie Woogie" which was released on YouTube on 20th March 2019. The song features international DJ R3hab.She recently launched her own brand of digital detox products called “Soundarya A to Z”. Her collaboration with Universal Music India will see her launch more music projects in the future. As of February 2019, she has also launched an underwear line named “Passion”. In an interview with The Quint , She said, “There is a lot of entertainment going on in the world today, but there is a huge need for deeper meaning and deeper existence. We have been told that if we work hard enough, entertainment will take care of itself. This is a dangerous notion.”
